THE future of a local event is in doubt after more than 20 years.

A countryside and craft fair has been organised by Whittington and Fisherwick Parish Council, with more than £160,000 raised for good causes over the past two decades.

But it may not run in 2026 after no-one came forward to volunteer to oversee the event.

A spokesperson said:

“Cllr Bob Wood, chair of the council, has announced that the fair will not take place unless a volunteer organiser steps up before the end of January.

“If anyone feels able to help maintain this valuable event, please contact the parish council clerk.”
