Glenn Turnbull, of St Luke’s Walk, was sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on November 11.

The 28-year-old was arrested on Tuesday 1 November by officers investigating a burglary at a home in Ford Way, Armitage, on October 27.

He pleaded guilty to five charges of burglary and was given a 40-month prison sentence.

The charges related to sneak-in house burglaries, in which items including mobile phones were stolen, in the Handsacre and Armitage areas between March and October.

Inspector Jared White, Commander of Lichfield Local Policing Team (LPT), said: “Burglary can have a devastating affect on victims.

“Turnbull, who struck at several homes, has now been removed from the streets and is serving a lengthy prison sentence.

“He received the significant jail term just days after being arrested – another good example of the criminal justice system working speedily to deal with offenders and make our communities safer.”

Anyone with information about crime in their area can ring Staffordshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
