The man, who had been sleeping in the booking hall, was caught at 3.30am on Bank Holiday Monday (August 28) trying to break into the ticket machine.

He used a crowbar and a concrete block in a bid to break into the machine, before smashing a window and damaging a cupboard door.

The man was disturbed by a delivery driver at 5.30am and ran off towards the platform where he crossed the tracks and escaped into some bushes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or by text on 61016.
