A BURGLAR who stole cars and items worth more than £100,000 has been jailed for more than three years.
Callum Gaines targeted vehicles across Lichfield and Tamworth, including a VW Tiguan, two Peugeot cars, a Renault Clio, an Audi A6, a Ford Fiesta and a VW T-Roc.
The 18-year-old, from Tamworth, was jailed for three-and-a-half years at Stafford Crown Court after he admitted six counts of burglary, five counts of theft of a motor vehicle, one count of attempted burglary and one count of theft from a motor vehicle. He also agreed to a schedule of 18 burglary offences to be taken into consideration.
As well as the cars, Gaines took phones and a laptops from one of the homes he burgled.
DC Ben Tuckwell, from Staffordshire Police, said:
“Gaines had a significant impact on local communities in Lichfield and Tamworth with his widespread offending.
“I’m pleased that we were able to gather all of the evidence needed to secure this result which has ultimately resulted in a prolific thief being locked up for a number of years.”
