POLICE say a knife has been recovered following a fight in Lichfield.

Officers were called to Beacon Park at 4.30pm yesterday (16th July).

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said:

“We understand a pre-arranged fight between two 15-year-old boys took place and was seen by a group of other people who knew them both.

“At one stage, we believe a kitchen knife was given to one of the lads who was fighting by someone in the group. He didn’t use it and dropped it on the floor.

“Both of those who were fighting suffered minor injuries.

“With the help of park rangers, officers trawled the area and found the people we believe were involved, as well as the two lads who were fighting. The knife was also seized by officers from the area.

“A number of people were interviewed in relation to the incident. Three boys from Lichfield, aged between 14 and 15, have been referred to youth offending services.”
