A Show for Jan will honour Jan Green, a member of Fradley Players, The Lichfield Poets and Lichfield Players.

Representatives of the three groups are currently in rehearsal for the one-night-only charity performance featuring sketches, poetry, music and excerpts from plays. The evening will also showcase some of Jan’s own writing.

The groups will be joined by professional soprano Bethan Wyn Jones, a friend of Jan’s, who will perform classical and modern pieces and also take part in sketches.

Jan was a resident and a passionate champion of  Fradley, campaigning against the proposed eco village and other developments she felt would be detrimental to the area.

As well as The Lichfield Poets, she was a member of Alrewas Poets and Lichfield District Writers.

A Show for Jan, at Fradley Village Hall on July 2, will raise money for St Giles Hospice and the National Memorial Arboretum.

Tickets for the 7.30pm event are £10 and include a fish and chip supper. There is no bar so people are asked to take their own drinks. Tickets are available from Fradley Post Office or www.fradleyplayers.co.uk.
