Businesses in Lichfield are celebrating after the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism and Good Food Awards.

Swinfen Hall Hotel was named small hotel of the year, while Aspects at the National Memorial Arboretum scooped the business events venue of the year crown.
Amber House in Alrewas achieved a silver award in the B&B and guest house of the year category, while The Boat Inn took the same prize in the restaurant of the year, with Larder scooping bronze. Their were also highly commended results for The Four Seasons Restaurant and Darwins.
Other results saw Drayton Manor Theme Park win bronze in the accessible and inclusive category and highly commended in the large visitor attraction of the year, with the Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum taking bronze in the small visitor attraction of the year.
Cllr Iain Eadie, Cabinet member for investment, economic growth and tourism for Lichfield District Council, said: “Lichfield boasts amazing attractions, restaurants and accommodation, and it was fantastic to see many of them being recognised at the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism and Good Food awards.
“Lichfield district has so much to offer visitors who want to come for the day or stay a little longer. There is something for everyone all year round, regardless of the weather.
“Last year we saw 2.7 million trips in our area, with £125 million spent by tourists during their visits. Over 2,200 jobs are directly supported by tourism with nearly 530 other related jobs linked to tourism spend.
“Visitors to our district are vital to our local economy and I want to make sure Lichfield District Council keeps playing its part in the Visit Lichfield campaign to encourage people to visit and come back again.”
Cllr Mark Winnington, Cabinet member for economic growth at Staffordshire County Council, added: “A huge well done to our winners and finalists, and to all our amazing tourism providers who continue to do us proud in attracting thousands of visitors to the county each year.
“Tourism is an important sector for Staffordshire and I continue to be impressed with the quality and drive for perfection from our businesses.”
