STAFF and residents at a Lichfield care home have put on their dancing shoes for the launch of a new Dementia Disco initiative.
The activities team at The Spires came up with the idea and invited local community members and friends to join them for the event.
The organisers said it went down “an absolute storm” – and now want to make it a regular thing so will be hosting the disco bi-monthly over the coming year.
Activity coordinator Angela Smith said:
“The Dementia Disco is a fantastic way to connect with others in a relaxed and supportive environment.
“It’s wonderful to see the power of music bring joy and reminiscence for those living with dementia, their families and caregivers.
“Everyone is welcome – we’re really looking forward to making more friends in our local community.”
