Lichfield Cathedral’s popular candlelit tours continue are set to start once again.
The tours give visitors the chance to see the historic building in the same light as those who saw it in years gone by.
The Revd Canon Dr Pete Wilcox , Canon Chancellor of Lichfield Cathedral, said:
“For hundreds of years, at night time and in winter months, people were only able to see our extraordinary Cathedral by candlelight. A tour of this holy place is an inspiring experience under any circumstances.
“The atmosphere of a candlelight tour is never to be forgotten”.
Non-alcoholic punch and shortbread delight will be served after the tour in The Old Stables – a magnificent medieval beamed building opposite the Cathedral.
Forthcoming tour dates are:
- January 12 & 26
- February 1, 9, 15 & 23
- March 1, 8 & 16.
Tours begin at 7.30pm and last approximately 1 hour. Visitors meet in the Cathedral Shop, opposite the Cathedral main entrance from 7pm onwards.
