A Lichfield tennis club is hoping to build on Wimbledon fever as it holds an open day.
Lichfield Friary Lawn Tennis Club will offer free coaching, demonstrations and the chance for people to have a go at the sport during the event on June 26 from 2pm to 4pm at their Tamworth Road club.
Head coach Paul Bayliss said:
“Whether you are an adult, junior or a family we want people to have a go. The idea of this open day is for people who have been enjoying the tennis of the television to come along, in a non-pressure environment, and have some fun. It’s free and there’s nothing to lose. We’ll have lots of activities going on and all the family can participate with prizes on offer.”
Lichfield Friary Tennis Club has six artificial grass floodlit courts, free parking and a large clubhouse. There are 14 mens, womens and mixed competitive teams and players of all standards are always welcome to join in.
