
Commuters are being warned to expect busier trains than usual on the cross-city line this weekend as pre-Christmas bargain hunters head for the Black Friday sales.
London Midland has said it is adding extra carriages but warned passengers to allow extra time for their journeys.
“Birmingham New Street is expected to be exceptionally busy, with queuing systems in place for trains,” a spokesperson said. “It may take longer to travel to and from these stations.”
