A new guide outlining why companies should invest in Lichfield has launched – just days after the collapse of the Friarsgate redevelopment plans due to a lack of private funding.
The long awaited city centre project was axed by councillors, despite the scheme being more than a decade in the making.
But Lichfield District Council has now launched an ‘Investment Prospectus’ in a bid to attract more funding to the region and persuade more companies to relocate here.
Factors such as “excellent transport links” and “bustling city and town centres” are highlighted, together with information on development sites such as Burntwood Business Park, Lichfield South Business Park, Liberty Park, Prologis Park and Fradley Park, as well as opportunities for investment, such as the former GKN site on Trent Valley Road and land at Cricket Lane in Lichfield.
Councillor Ian Pritchard, Cabinet member for economic growth, environment and development services, said: “I am delighted to launch the Investment Prospectus, which will help us to promote all that we have to offer the business community.
“From our strong new business survival rate, through to our development and investment opportunities, in the prospectus we illustrate why companies across the country and beyond should settle their businesses in the heart of England and make Lichfield district their home.”
