The next meeting of the Lichfield Discovered group will take place at the Garrick Studio on October 2.
Brian Smith of the Friends of Lichfield’s Historic Parks will be sharing stories about Beacon Park, Minster Pool, the Gardens of Remembrance and Stowe Pool.
The talk will begin at 7pm, and afterwards people are invited to stay behind and share their own stories and memories. There is no charge and everyone is welcome.
Kate Gomez, one of those behind the initiative, explained “Lichfield Discovered is about exploring the city as it was, as it is and as it could be.
“We want people to let us know what they’d like to discover about Lichfield and how.”
Following the success of last month’s talk on Sandfields Pumping Station, public historian David Moore has decided to hold a further meeting about the building tomorrow (September 27) at 7.30pm.
The meeting at Darwin Hall is open to anyone interested in finding out more about plans to save the building and its Cornish beam engine for the benefit of the wider community.
