A musical theatre group in Lichfield is heading back to the stage for the first time in more than two-and-a-half years.

The Lichfield Musical Youth Theatre company saw the curtain come down early on their last production of Cats, which had been due to be performed in April 2020.

But members are back on the stage for their production of 13 – The Musical.

The comedy tells the story of Evan, who sees his whole life in New York uprooted thanks to his parents divorce as he’s moved all the way into rural Indiana where he has no friends, and no one understands him.

Lichfield Musical Youth Theatre’s artistic director Oliver Rowe said:

“We’re so excited to be back with our first production in so very long – the cast have been working so hard and can’t wait to share our show.

“We’re only funded by our ticket sales, so we hope lots of our local supporters are coming to see us.

“It’s a show people won’t necessarily know, but it’s so very uplifting it’s going to be great to experience something new too that will have everyone leaving smiling.”

The show runs from tomorrow (7th June) until Saturday at The Hub at St Mary’s. Tickets are available at LMYT.Eventbrite.co.uk.
