Lichfield residents urged to share memories of wartime evacuation

Published:

People from Lichfield with memories of wartime evacuees are being invited to attend an event in Staffordshire.

The event at Kidsgrove Library on July 8 is helping to form part of a growing collection of information regarding World War Two evacuation in the county.

Organised as part of the Children on the Move project, the event will run from 3pm and 5pm.

County Councillor Ben Adams, Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture, said:

“We know very little about how this momentous event affected people personally and how it impacted upon Staffordshire’s communities. This is an ideal opportunity for locals to share their stories with those who experienced similar from World War Two and for this information be used to help us form a better picture of what it was like at this time.”
