LICHFIELD Hockey Club's men wait for a win goes on after they were sunk 3-1 by Beeston 2nds.

The city men got off to a perfect start, however, as good play after two minutes eventually saw Seb Fisher on the ball and he made no mistake with the finish.

Beeston were cutting a frustrated figure as the Lichfield defensive line held firm.

It should have been 2-0, but the lines were fluffed as a chance four yards out was wide of the target.

The game was level when Beeston found the bottom corner through a sea of bodies.

One soon became two for Beeston as a short corner saw the ball again find the net.

The third quarter again saw the city side forced to defend resolutely – and there were glimpses of hope with some good play, but the final ball wasn't there.

As Lichfield went in search of an equaliser, they left gaps which Beeston exploited for a tap home to wrap up a 3-1 scoreline.
