A Lichfield school has begun the recruitment process to find a new headteacher.

A LICHFIELD school has begun the recruitment process to find a new headteacher.

The Friary School is seeking a replacement for Matt Allman after he confirmed he would step down to take up a role with the Primitas Learning Partnership.

An advert for the post – with a salary between £96,673 and £114,759 – said the new head was expected to start in January 2026.

It added:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious leader to create a lasting legacy in one of the highest performing schools in the country.”

Interviews for the post are expected to take place on 15th and 16th September.
