THE confirmation of where schools will go following the break-up of an education trust is an important step for pupils, parents and staff, Lichfield's MP has said.
Seven multi-academy groups will take on locations currently run by the troubled Arthur Terry Learning Partnership (ATLP).
It comes after the Government confirmed earlier this year that the schools would be transferred to alternative groups.
Among those changing trusts will be St Michael's CofE Primary School and St Chad's CofE Primary School, which will switch to the Future Generation Trust, while Scotch Orchard Primary School, Nether Stowe School, The Bridge Academy, Anna Seward Primary School and Greysbrooke Primary School will go to the Windsor Academy Trust.
Lichfield MP Dave Robertson said the news would allow schools to "move forward with confidence".
He said:
"This marks an important step forward. Moving ATLP schools into a small number of strong academy trusts based in our region gives pupils, parents and staff much-needed certainty, while helping to secure the long-term success of these schools and the high-quality education our children deserve.
"The focus throughout has been on doing what is best for pupils. With these plans now progressing, school communities can move forward with confidence and focus on the future.
"Most importantly, these changes will help ensure our young people continue to receive the excellent education they deserve."
