A LICHFIELD school has been praised by inspectors for giving students the confidence to rebuild their futures.
The Bridge Academy is an alternative provision setting, supporting pupils who have social, emotional or mental health needs, or who have been excluded from mainstream education.
Ofsted judged the school to be meeting the expected standard across every category assessed, including achievement, attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teaching, inclusion, leadership and governance, and personal development and wellbeing.
The inspectors said pupils were "better prepared for their next stage of education, training or employment" than when they arrived. It also highlights how the Academy offers pupils "stability, hope and the belief that their future can be brighter than their past".
Headteacher Elliot Payne said:
"We are incredibly proud of what our pupils and staff have achieved together, and this report is a real reflection of the hard work that goes into every single day at The Bridge Academy.
"None of this would be possible without the dedication of our staff team, who go above and beyond to understand every pupil's story and help them believe in a different future. I want to thank them, our pupils and their families for the trust they place in us."
Lee Miller, interim chief executive officer of the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership, said:
"The Bridge Academy plays a vital role in giving some of our most vulnerable pupils a genuine second chance – and this report reflects the skill and care with which the school's leaders go about that work.
"These strong foundations will be built upon further so that even more young people can leave The Bridge Academy ready for the next stage of their lives."
