More than 100 students at one of Lichfield’s high schools have taken part in a road safety course.

The pupils at Nether Stowe School were given a Bikeability training session by Cyclist Traning Ltd in conjunction with Staffordshire County Council.

A variety of activities were included in the level two course, including a cycle ride around local roads learning road craft and safety.

Ruth Poppleton, Headteacher said,

“At Nether Stowe we always try to provide as many learning opportunities as possible in a variety of settings. This is yet another example of our strong partnership with the local community that enables our students to achieve so well.”

Students were also taught bike maintenance techniques to ensure their bicycles remain road worthy as well as mountain bike skills and pedal power sessions.
