A STORY of life as a prisoner of war will be told at an event in Lichfield.

Vanessa Morgan will giver her talk – My Father, POW – at Erasmus Darwin House on 23rd April.

She said:

“My father, Francis Hill, joined the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in September 1939 and was with the British Expeditionary Force in France until May 1940.

“They were told to make for Dunkirk, but on his way he and a group of friends were captured.

“This talk tell the story in the words of my father – but not any heroic escapes, just the life of an ordinary soldier.”
