A new survey has shown that youngsters in Lichfield have more faith in the England football team than their parents.

The report – compiled by England sponsor Vauxhall – revealed 25 per cent of youngsters in the city believed Roy Hodgson’s men could reach the final of Euro 2012, compared to just five per cent of their parents.

Jamie Knaggs from the Bristol Street Motors Vauxhall dealership said: “Like the kids in Lichfield, we too are confident England will be scoring a fair few successes on the pitch this summer!”

The survey also showed that 14 per cent of children believe England will lift the trophy, compared to a mere three per cent of parents.
