A LOCAL organisation is on the lookout for volunteers to help support its fundraising efforts over the coming year.

The Tamworth and Lichfield RNLI branch raised more than £8,100 last year – and hopes to do even better in 2025.

The money came from events including concerts and street collections.

A spokesperson said:

“The branch had lots to celebrate in 2024, not least the achievement of raising so much, but none of it would have been possible without our lovely, ever-willing volunteers, and the generosity of the residents of Lichfield, Tamworth and surrounding areas who we extend heartfelt thanks to for their unstinting support.

“Our volunteer numbers are relatively low so we will struggle to cover some events. It would be so lovely to match this year’s fundraising high with the same – or better – in 2025.

“We only ask for an hour or two of your time and you will always have the support of a long term member by your side. You can shake a bucket at one of our supermarket collections, help man our stall at various events in the local area or just come up with fundraising ideas.

“If you’re a confident speaker you may consider training to be a presenter, giving talks to local organisations about the Lifeboat service or becoming a water safety trainer helping educate youngsters how to be safe around water.

“You don’t have to be a member of our branch but it certainly helps and the annual subscription is only £7 a year. If you prefer to stay in the background there may be opportunities for you to help on the administration side too.”
