London Midland hope to have trains running on the cross-city line from Lichfield later today.

Services have been disrupted due to fallen trees since yesterday evening.

A spokesperson for the train operator said: “The high winds last night led to several trees being blown onto the track.

“This has caused extensive damage to the overhead power lines at Wylde Green.

“There will be no trains on the Birmingham to Lichfield line this morning. We are sorry to all passengers who have difficult journeys today.”
