Two people have been arrested after trying to steal a car in Lichfield.
A man and a woman were spotted trying to steal a Volkswagen Golf from Sheriffs Close in the Boley Park area last night (April 26).
Residents alerted police who then found the pair in a nearby street trying to break into other cars.
Inspector Jo Rea, commander of the Lichfield District local policing team, said: “My officers have once again shown themselves to be efficient, professional and effective. Our speedy response has meant the two criminals have not got away and nothing has been stolen.”
Officers closed in and an 18-year-old woman from Walsall was arrested for theft and a 21-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested for attempted theft of a motor vehicle.
