A man has been charged over a robbery at a shop in Lichfield.
Scott Thomas Preece, 20, from Lichfield but of no fixed abode, was arrested in the early hours of Sunday (October 28) following the alleged robbery at the Co-op in Marks Walk just before 10pm on Saturday.
He appeared before magistrates in Burton yesterday and was remanded in custody to appear at Stafford Crown Court on November 5.
Officers arrested four other people – three men and a woman – at the same time.
The men – a 29-year-old from Birmingham, and two Lichfield men aged 20 and 21 – were all arrested on suspicion of going equipped for the theft of a motor vehicle. A 28-year-old woman, from Lichfield, was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs.
