More than 20 drivers in Burntwood have had the catalytic converters security marked in a bid to stop thieves targeting their vehicles.

The free event was organised by Staffordshire Police at Acorn Group on Cannock Road, Chase Terrace.

PCSO Brian Harbon, who helped to organise the event, said: “With the high cost of metal, such thefts are potentially more attractive to criminals. By marking a catalytic converter with a unique identification code it is possible to trace it back to the vehicle it was taken from.”
