A LOCAL golfer has tasted success – just months short of his 85th birthday.
Barrie Taylor won the mid-week medal open competition at Whittington Heath Golf Course.
His triumph comes after he decided to take up golf aged just 60 – and has since recorded four holes in one.
It isn’t the first sporting success for Barrie either. He had previously competed as a veteran athlete for Birchfield Harriers and winning six British championships.
