The new mTicketing service will be introduced to all stations along the London Euston West Coast Main Line route.

Passengers will be able to present their ticket on the Trainline’s app.

Clare Gilmartin, CEO of Trainline, said: “Response to mobile ticketing has been very positive and it’s something the whole industry is working on together to promote a smarter and more efficient experience for train travellers.

“For travel directly between Manchester and Euston, where we already have mobile ticketing available, 77% of customers are choosing to travel using mobile tickets when booked through the Trainline app.

“By bringing this new service to all stations on the line, thousands more people every month will have access to mobile ticketing, allowing them to skip the queues at train stations or collection points each morning by simply presenting their smartphone at the barriers.”
