Motorists are being advised to avoid the A38 near Lichfield as flooding continues to cause severe traffic congestion.
The northbound carriageway is completely closed between Barton and Clay Mills, while the southbound carriageway only has one lane open.
The closures have led to severe rush-hour traffic congestion all along the A38.
