New art facility to open on a narrowboat in Fradley

Published:

A new art facility will be making a splash at Fradley Marina.

The Arty Bargy project was given the go-ahead by Lichfield District Council planners.

The 68ft x 6ft narrow boat has been transformed into an art studio and art shop and will be based at the newly-built pontoon in Fradley.

In the application to Lichfield District Council, art teacher and business owner Tina Belcher said: “The Arty Bargy will offer a wide range of art and craft classes for all age groups.

“Throughout the week the studio would be rented out to local art tutors and art groups. On Saturdays ‘Made By Me’ art club would run.

“[It will also] house a studio at the stern which would accomodate an artist in residence.”

Full details of the application can be seen on Lichfield District Council’s planning website.
