The Streethay Against Development campaign group are urging Lichfield residents to sign up to their newsletter.

The group are fighting plans to convert farmland into an 850-home development – a move which would increase the amount of houses in their village by more than 400 per cent.

Lichfield MP Michael Fabricant has already called for a delay and rethink on the size of the development.

Mr Fabricant said:

“The size of Streethay would mean that 800 new homes would be just too much for Streethay to sustain.”

The group are now pushing ahead with their target of raising £2,000 to bring in a planning expert to help them contest the proposal, but the group are keen to keep Streethay residents upto date with the latest developments.

Anyone who would like to sign up for the Streethay Against Development newsletter can email their name, address, contact telephone number and email address to alancope@ntlworld.com.
