MORE than £1,000 has been raised for a local organisation thanks to a special concert.
Lichfield District Council’s chair Cllr Keith Vernon performed alongside Lizzie Mason at the Lichfield Garrick to support Liberty Jamboree.
The concert also featured the Liberty Jamboree Sign ands Shine Choir and guest performers Mike Franklin and Peter Livesey.
Cllr Vernon said:
“Thank you to everyone who supported the concert. It was a fantastic afternoon – and I’m really pleased we were able to raise over £1,000 for such an important local charity.
“Liberty Jamboree does incredible work supporting young people across our district and it’s been a privilege to support them.”
The fundraising for Liberty Jamboree during Cllr Vernon’s year as chair has now topped more than £10,000.
Maggi Huckfield, CEO of Liberty Jamboree, said:
“Being chosen as Keith’s charity has been a true honour. From our very first meeting through to a wonderful concert featuring Liberty Jamboree Shine and Sign Choir, it has been an incredible experience.
“Keith has gone above and beyond in his support, not only through his fundraising concert, but also by helping us secure £9,000 to install shutters.
“A heartfelt thank you from myself, the team and all the members of Liberty Jamboree.”
