Organisers of a Christmas event in Burntwood have hailed it as a success.
Around 1,000 people attended the lights switch-on in Chasetown.
The event included are fairground rides and a craft market, as well as mulled wine and mince pies being served up.
The festive fun was organised by a group of local businesses and organisations, including Cameron Homes, Chasetown Civil Engineering, The Bakery and Haywoods Blinds.
Charmaine Sweeney, from High Street-based Cameron Homes, said:
“The evening was a big success and very well attended by around 1,000 local people and visitors.
“There was a fabulous community spirit on the night, with everyone enjoying themselves.
“This was the first time this has happened and we were delighted with the way the High Street was transformed into a Christmas scene, with Santa and his elves making an appearance.”

Entertainment on the evening was provided by Jason Jones from BBC’s The Voice, a choir from St Joseph and St Teresa RC Primary School, as well as local bands from Erasmus Darwin Academy and the local scout group.
Charmaine added:
“We met every week for six months to pull this evening together and it was reminiscent of the sort of Christmas fun Chasetown saw 20 years ago.”
