HUNDREDS of homes could be built in Burntwood under new plans.
A screening opinion application has been submitted to Lichfield District Council for a proposed residential development on land north of Rake Hill.
Hourigan Planning will look to ascertain whether an environmental impact assessment would be required as part of a request for full planning permission in the future.
A full outline application is expected to be submitted in the first quarter of 2026 and could see up to 225 new homes built, with 43% of those being affordable.
Properties on the site would be energy efficient and come with an electric vehicle charging point.
Should the scheme progress to full application, it would see access points and infrastructure also built, including a realignment of the existing Meg Lane and Ogley Hay Road junction.
