Developers hope to create 12 shops and a drive-thru restaurant on the former Olaf Johnson site between Cannock Road and Robins Road.

The proposals would bring much-needed investment to Burntwood, according to the developers.

In a statement supporting the planning application they said: “The town centre is in need of improvement and the scheme would extend the range and choice of shopping, and food and drink uses.

“Burntwood town centre is currently only providing a small percentage of the retail floorspace that is required to meet the needs of the local population. It is proposed that the the town centre is further developed to meet local needs.”

Full details of the proposals can be seen on Lichfield District Council’s planning website.
