PLANS for apartments on the site of a former GP surgery in Burntwood have been approved.
The two-storey building will see four properties built on the land off Hudson Drive.
The site was previously home to the surgery before the new facility at nearby Greenwood House was opened.
The plot is alongside a previously approved care home facility which is under construction.
A planning statement said:
“The site is formed out of a piece of open ground off Hudson Drive which was originally part of the health centre.
“To the north is a garage and MOT test centre, to the west there is a row of shops and to the south is a site that has gained planning permission for a new care home facility.
“The proposed development being residential follows the pattern of the existing adjoining residential development and thus provides a natural location for such a scheme. The area is a popular residential area with a demand for new housing.”
