PLANS to reconfigure Beacon Park’s golf course could be approved by councillors next week.
Lichfield District Council is proposing to create a nine-hole pitch and putt facility to replace the existing 18-hole facility.
Members of the planning committee will decide whether to give the scheme the green light – with a report to the meeting suggesting it should be approved.
A planning officer’s report said:
“This application seeks permission for the reconfiguration of 18-hole golf course into a new nine-hole pitch and putt course, creation of new pathways and associated works.
“The works include the removal of the 11th and 13th tee boxes, the removal of the 13th green, an additional pathway between holes three and four, additional pathway between holes eight and nine, and the proposed pathway from the ranger station to the first tee.
“The proposed pitch and putt course will be approximately half the size of the existing course. It represents an improvement over the existing underutilised golf course.”
The proposals will be debated at the planning committee meeting on Monday (30th June).
