PLANS to create a dog walking field have been rejected.
Lichfield District Council’s planning chiefs refused permission for the development on land at Bandland Farm on No Mans Heath Road in Clifton Campville.
The agricultural plot had been earmarked for a fenced off area for dog walkers.
But planning officials said the site was inappropriate for such a use.
A report said:
“The proposed dog exercise area is located in an unsustainable location that is poorly served by public transport and lacks safe and convenient pedestrian and cycle access. As a result, the development would be likely to generate an unacceptable level of private car journeys, contrary to the principles of acceptable farm diversification or sustainable development.
“The proposals fail to provide for adequate access width, visibility splays and suitable off road parking to serve the proposed development.”
