Police appeal after vandals damage cars and property in Lichfield

Police are appealing for witnesses to several incidents where vehicles and property were damaged in Lichfield.

The incidents occurred in the evening of October 8 and overnight into October 9 in Upper St John Street, Swinfen Broun Road and other areas near to Beacon Park.

Ten vehicles were damaged by having their wing mirrors pulled off, while windows and fences were also vandalised.

Police believe a group of people returning home after a night out may have been involved in the incidents. They were last seen walking down Anson Avenue towards Dimbles Lane just after midnight on October 9.

“This really is unacceptable mindless behaviour,” said PC Alison Rowley. “We would ask people returning home from a night out to be considerate to their neighbours and the community.

“We would also ask people to contact us if they hear this type of behaviour going on or any other anti-social behaviour or any suspicious activity.”

One of the males in the group wore a grey tracksuit and another had brown hair with a blonde streak down the middle.

Anyone who witnessed any of the incidents, or can offer any information is asked to contact 0300 123 4455, or anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
