POLICE say they are investigating reports of young people causing problems near shops in Burntwood.

Officers say reports have been received about the issues of "littering and disrespectful behaviour" towards staff at local businesses at Redwood Park.

PCSO Chelsea Humphreys, from Staffordshire Police, said:

"While the majority of young people behave responsibly, a small minority are causing concern by leaving rubbish around the shopping area and behaving in a manner that is having a negative impact on the local community.

"We would like to remind parents and guardians to speak with their children about respecting local businesses, their staff and the environment.

"Redwood Park shops are an important part of our community, and everyone has a role to play in keeping the area clean, welcoming, and safe for those who live, work and visit there.

"Patrols will continue in the area and we will be working alongside local businesses to address any ongoing concerns."
