Police say vehicles damaged after youths threw stones and other objects onto the M6 Toll

POLICE say youngsters throwing objects from a bridge onto vehicles travelling on the M6 Toll are posing a "significant risk" to motorists.

Officers say they have received a number of reports of youths dropping stones and other items onto the carriageway at the crossing near Chasewater.

PCSO Chelsea Humphreys said the area was now being "actively monitored" following the incidents.

She added:

"This reckless behaviour poses a significant risk to road users and could easily result in a serious collision, injury or worse.

"Several vehicles have already been damaged as a result of objects being thrown from the bridge.

"We are actively monitoring the area and working with partners to identify those responsible."
