Police seek individual spotted with hammer after damage to charity’s new base in Lichfield

Police investigating vandalism at the new base of a local charity say an individual with a hammer has been spotted on CCTV.

POLICE investigating vandalism at the new base of a local charity say an individual with a hammer has been spotted on CCTV.

The Liberty Jamboree facility, which is currently under construction at Lichfield Sports Club off Eastern Avenue, had eight windows smashed in the early hours of 31st July.

The charity, which works with children and young people with disabilities, said the damage was “absolutely heart-wrenching”.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said:

“A lone offender with a hammer has been seen at the location on CCTV.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting incident 754 of 31st July.
