A PROPERTY at a local farm could be demolished to make way for a new home if plans are approved.
An application has been submitted to Lichfield District Council for the site at Brookhay Farm in Huddlesford.
If approved, the scheme would see the existing two-storey building replaced by a new detached property.
A planning statement said:
“The proposed dwelling would sit on top of the footprint of the existing dwelling and whilst being a different shape, will largely overlap with the existing built form. Access and parking areas will remain consistent with the current site layout and wider landscape.
“The character and appearance of the proposed dwelling is driven by a carefully selected material palette that harmonises the use of natural materials and contemporary architecture.
“It is acknowledged that the proposed materials are not typical of traditional rural dwellings within the area, however the design and materials of the proposed introduces architectural interest and would be of a high-quality modern design that would not appear out of place in the locality.”
