A PUBLIC meeting is taking place to discuss delays to the long-awaited new health centre in Burntwood.
The facility has been earmarked on land previously occupied by the town’s youth centre.
But despite the existing building and skate park on the Cherry Close site being demolished and the temporary health and wellbeing centre nearby being shut, there is still no formal plans in place for the replacement.
Lichfield District Council has previously warned that ongoing delays could see around £1.1million of funding earmarked for the scheme being withdrawn.
But a Reform UK county councillor has reassured residents that the scheme is on track.
Now Labour MP Dave Robertson is hosting a public meeting in the town at 6.30pm on 16th April.
A spokesperson for the MP said:
“Dave is bringing our community together for a discussion on the future of the Burntwood Health Centre project.
“The event will provide an opportunity for attendees to hear directly from those involved in delivering the new centre and understand the next steps.”
The meeting will take place at Burntwood Memorial Hall. Those interested in attending must reserve a place online.
