Rail delays for Lichfield commuters after signal fault on the cross-city line

Commuters in Lichfield could be facing a longer than usual journey home after problems on the rail network in the Midlands.

A signal fault at Bournville caused delays on the cross-city line this afternoon, according to train operator London Midland.

The problem was fixed at around 3.20pm today (September 27), but the commute home could be longer than expected for some travellers.

London Midland explained on their Twitter page:

“Signal fault at Bournville has been repaired. However, knock on delays on Redditch-Birmngham-Lichfield line expected until 1630.”
