The Lichfield Garrick is set to host a VE Day party with treats made from rations – and you’re invited.

Professor Roland Rotherham and Master Chef Simon Smith have put their heads together and prepared a sumptuous menu of culinary delights which will take you back in time to 1945.

Visitors will be transported back to the Lichfield Garrick’s very own Victory Street Party where rationing is still the order of the day but the celebrations will still go on.

Prepare for some surprises in this lighthearted look back at our culinary heritage with Simon guiding you through expert preparation, whilst Professor Rotherham puts it all into historical context.

Visitors will also have the chance to taste the delights of the day and recipe cards will be provided to take away.

The afternoon of historical cookery takes place at 12noon on August 28. Tickets, priced £8, are available by calling 01543 412121 or via the Lichfield Garrick website.
