Visitors will be able to get an unusual view of the beauty of Lichfield Cathedral as candlelit tours of the historic building return.
Experienced guides will be showing the Cathedral off in the same light as those who saw it in medieval times.
“The popular candlelit tours return this autumn and are the perfect way to light up a dark and cold evening,” a spokesperson said.
“A great feature of the Cathedral is its splendour on a grand scale – this is how visitors usually see the building during daylight. Candlelit tours give visitors a chance to see the Cathedral’s wonder and delicacy on the tiny scale, as you investigate up close by candlelight.”
The tours run on:
- October 22, 23, 29 and 30
- January 8, 14 and 15
- February 4, 11, 12, 18 and 19
The tours start at 7.15pm and last approximately an hour. Tickets are £12.50 and can be booked from the Cathedral Shop at 9 The Close, or by calling 01543 306150.
