A NEW scheme is aiming to boost local businesses in Burntwood.
The initiative is being launched by Burntwood Town Council and will see grants of up to £1,000 made available to new and existing micro and small companies.
The Burntwood Business Support and Start Up Grant can be used for things such as essential equipment, tools, website development, digital marketing, training and development, branding, legal and accountancy advice, shopfront improvements and product development.
As well as the funding, successful applicants could also receive a package of support including membership of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, mentoring, business support and signposting.
Cllr Darren Ennis, leader of Burntwood Town Council said:
“I know from personal experience that starting and building a business is not easy. I have started a business myself and have supported many others over the years, so I understand how important the right support can be, especially for start ups and businesses in their first few years.
"Sometimes a relatively small amount of funding can help a business take its first step or its next step. But support is not just about money. Access to advice, mentoring, and being part of a wider business community like the Chamber of Commerce can be just as valuable, and often more important than people realise.
"That is exactly why this scheme matters. It is about giving Burntwood businesses practical help, real backing, and a better chance to grow and succeed.”
