TWO second half goals were enough to earn Chasetown all three points on the road at Nantwich Town.
George Cater and Sam Unitt were both on target as the Scholars kept themselves in the play-off places.
The first half saw the visitors push hard in a bid to grab an early advantage, with Jack Langston’s free kick finding the head of Unitt, but Nantwich keeper Ben Garratt was on hand to make a crucial save.
Langston continued to probe with a powerful effort that tested the keeper’s reflexes.
Cater was also proving a threat down the flank and crossed for Unitt who narrowly failed to make contact – and he then launched a powerful effort from distance which again saw Garratt save.
Unitt then fired wide when he was found by Butlin as the two sides went in level at the interval.
The second half saw Tom Thorley send an early effort over the bar after Langston and Butlin had combined.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 58th minute when Langston’s cross found Cater, who slotted home.
Things almost got even better when a close-range chance fell to Langston but he could only send the ball wide.
Goalkeeper Curtis Pond played his part in keeping Chasetown ahead with a series of key saves – and those stops would prove crucial as the visitors doubled their advantage and sealed the victory when Unitt rounded Garratt to finish.
